Common Mistakes To Avoid While Blogging

A blog is basically an online journal that is used to describe various websites that maintain an ongoing source of information. Blogging can be a remarkable experience for you as well as it is an ideal learning experience. The following article helps you to avoid common mistakes while writing a blog.

Ignoring or neglecting your main Idea

The blog you’re writing about should consist of a main theme, idea or concept around which your whole story revolves. You can choose broad themes including photography, food themes, your daily life, a particular sport, movies or celebrity gossips etc. In this way, you’ll give people a reason to read your article.

Addition of too much text

Unfortunately we’ve to accept the fact that people do not like to read too much, especially when it comes to reading online text and large un-ending paragraphs. To avoid the large blocks of continuous text, you can add bold letters, sub-headings, brief and to the point information, or hyperlink them to catch the reader’s attention and make them take interest in your article.

11

Non-inclusion of facts and sources

You don’t know about the audience of your article and you have not established credibility or trust with them. They do not really care about what your opinion is or what you say until you’re a well known person. So, the best way to avoid this is to include facts regarding the topic and add references to other trusted sources and expand on the concepts.

10

Poor writing & Re-check

Writers often make the mistakes during article writing which includes wrong grammar, spelling mistakes, typos etc. This act can greatly affect your credibility as a blogger and thus it prevents readers from returning. This mistake mainly occurs when the writer avoids to proof-read his/her content. So, a writer should read out their article properly and check for any mistake before pressing the ‘submit’ button.

No supporting Images

As for present time, a lot of people fall for images in a blog/article. Even many good writers fail to use images to support their key messages or their main idea of content. You have to look at things from a different perspective, and if an image can help convey your message, then it’s a ‘success’, no need to add too much text and long stories over there.

8

Do not copy/Be original

Being original is a very important aspect of blog writing; never make the mistake of assuming that your borrowed material will not be recognized if you copy/paste the content from somewhere. Being original actually helps increasing the trust of your readers in your article and soon your readers will start growing in number.

7

Encourage comments

You should ask people to comment for any suggestions or what they feel about your article. Obviously not all of the readers will agree with you, so you should take their criticism positively and make it easy for the readers to comment at the end. If your blog proves itself to be impressive, you will get both types of response. You will receive a large number of comments if you ask for them.
